The young Russian immigrant had been a garment worker for the past five years. When the foreman reduced the workers’ already-low wages, Annie decided to take a stand. She began a strike that went on for months and eventually involved 40,000 workers across Chicago. The inspiring true story of how a strike started by an eighteen-year-old Russian Jewish immigrant made a difference in the lives of garment workers across Chicago.
